mrgreen: So on a new run through after my quicksaves corrupted, this chest was not in the same place as my first run through (it was just not there, not anywhere else).

Now I keep finding EPC scrolls but when I cast them no chest appears.

Its like the chest is out in the wild somewhere, but I dont know where.

Any thoughts?

mouses: Similar problem on my side - no chest appears when casted. Animation is like disrupted spell or something.

Dr_Adder: What level are your characters? It's possible that the spell is too high a difficulty to cast. Also, reading the spell description, it costs something like 5000 gold to cast the spell. Kinda strange to have spells that cost money to cast. Sucks, but oh well I guess...

PAK: Maybe you casted the chest, but forgot to "take it back" when leaving the location. When going out of location, chest doesn't return automatically to the caster inventory, but stays where it was casted in. And if in other location You tried to cast it again, you would get only a disrupted spell animation, without any additional info. Once I left the chest somewhere on the 1st level of the Temple, and had to return for it all the way from Hommlet.

mouses: I didn't forget it and even tried to return to the location repeatedly. I'm a big fan of D&D so it is a minor issue for me because rest of the game is very good.
