Hello Folks,

Does GOG.com's version of ToEE come with all three official Atari patches already installed? The reason why I ask is that the Circle of Eight mod requires that the first two Atari patches are installed. I read through ToEE's "Read Me," and started up the game, but I can't find any indication of what version of the game I've installed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Yes, it includes all the official patches and is therefore ready for the Co8 mod. Just go ahead.
As with some other GOG games it's better not to install them into the Program Files folder because of write access restrictions of Windows. It's better to choose a custom folder during installation.

Thank you very much for your detailed response. I'm especially grateful for your tip to not install to the Program Files folder due to Windows' restrictions there on write access.

Just to be extra clear on this - by default, GOG's program installed it to Program Files (x86). Does that mean that I need to uninstall the game, and reinstall it to a directory that is not under Program Files and Program Files (x86)?

You're welcome!
To be on the safe side, yes. don't install it into the default folder. It's "Program Files (x86)" because you use a 64 bit operating system, which puts all 32 bit applications into the "(x86)" folder and the 64 bit programs into the regular Program Files folder. Just backup your savegames and reinstall it. It's not a big deal and could save you some trouble (in case you don't run ToEE with administrator rights).

Thank you once more DeMignon, for spelling out the subtleties to me. That advice applies to a ton of the "older" games that I proudly own, and will be WELL heeded by me. Consider this post SOLVED!

You ROCK!
