Hi all,

Just started playing, and downloaded the circle of eight mod. Seems pretty good, but I am having a huge problem. One of my characters (The Paladin) is doing 0 damage when they hit. She has 18 strenght and is using a long sword, but I tried a different weapon as well. Is there any reason for this? My other characters do damage just fine. I don't see any debuffs on her, but I can't really tell for sure.

Thanks!

I think you have turned on the attack mode, forgot which one,
but it's a tick in the selection wheel, that enables you to do stun damage.
(Subdue? Flat of blade? Something?)
It's also conceivable that you are using the wrong weapon type vs a particular damage-resistant monster. Enlarge the small tab in the bottom right of the screen with the dodecahedron icon by clicking on it, and pay attention to the text that scrolls there when you fight. When the Palladin (or anybody else) does 0 damage, you can click on the blue text and see a breakdown of all the numbers as to why.

For example: Skeletons are resistant to 5 piercing/slashing damage (ie. all non-blunt damage is reduced by 5). Zombies are resistant to 5 blunt/piercing damage. Groaning Spirits are immune to any non-magic damage. Always keep a few backup weapons that do different damage (ie. blunt vs piercing vs slashing vs magic vs fire vs electrical, etc) in your backpack just in case a monster you meet is resistant to your favorite weapon type.

If your character is cursed or has a debuff, you will see a small colored square tab attached to the bottom of their picture icon. If you mouse over the colored square, you will see information describing the curse. Most curses will expire over time, but some you might need to see Jaroo the Druid in town about for a cure. If you see spell effects that just never go away, talk to Jaroo about "spell permanency" and he will solve the problem (note that this can be abused as an exploit, because it was included by the Co8 team as a bugfix).
Thanks Jarmo that was it!

Thanks for the info too Dreamteam67 I didn't know much about resistances.
