System: Windows 7 HP 32bit

Episode 1

The title says it. After wandering around the jungle for a bit (where the Power Pirate Action Figure guy is) the game crashes. This is what the error log has to say:

Faulting application name: MonkeyIsland101.exe, version: 2009.7.6.29797, time stamp: 0x4a52e1da
Faulting module name: MonkeyIsland101.exe, version: 2009.7.6.29797, time stamp: 0x4a52e1da
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00223603
Faulting process id: 0x37c
Faulting application start time: 0x01cd545a58a57772
Faulting application path: Y:\Tales of Monkey Island\Launch of the Screaming Narwhal\MonkeyIsland101.exe
Faulting module path: Y:\Tales of Monkey Island\Launch of the Screaming Narwhal\MonkeyIsland101.exe
Report Id: 759c6fa0-c055-11e1-afe7-6cf049161cc8

After starting the game again (of course restoring from a older autosave) i walked back into the jungle and it immediately crashed again without even show a single leaf. Same error.

So that's great. And as far as error messages go as generic as possible. (event id 1000, application error) :/

Have you tried updating DirectX? I got an error message (a *.dll file missing) when I first tried running the game and updating DirectX solved the problem.
I appreciate the effort, but

a) that is not the kind of error i got

b) what would i update it to? :/

Try to run the game without the internet connected.
Once there was a problem with TT games on computers with a specific computer configuration - they crashed on a active interned connection.
This may sound strange but disabling the connection helped.

Without the... uh no. :| The game isn't even requesting connection to the internet, so that has zero influence.

In better news i got past this segment and the crash in question by visiting all other screens i could first before going into the jungle and then saving often. After that one incident i could play the entire series without a crash.

This is kinda weird and i wont even try to understand why that "fixed" it, but i guess i'll take it. (Can't mark my own post as solution though.) >_>

It happens the same to me. Did you had the subtitles on?
It is fixed now but I'm not sure what the solution was.

I did (may not be in order):

- Try different resolutions.
- Disable and enable subtitles.
- Uninstall and then install only first chapter.
- Restore W7 to some days before.
- Run the game without internet connection
- Updating DX and then installing june2010 DX

After all this TOMI didn't run and I got an error on MonkeyIsland101.exe

I uninstall, install all the chapters and enable subtitles. Works like a charm. I'd like to increase screen resolution but I won't risk until I have the game finished.
