Several people have reported having no mouse cursor on Windows Vista.
The mouse moves, and clicks, you just can't see where it is.

If you go into video options and disable "Mouse Cursor" and restart the game it will use your system cursor and work.
At least it did for me. You just don't get the fancy custom cursor.

Hmmm.. Try it as safe mode, and also try it with Windows Themes turned off.

It could be the speedup options as well, so you could disable the openGL options and see how it works.

I also had this problem with windows Vista, and disabling the "mouse cursor" worked. I hope it works for others.

Disabling the mouse cursor merely uses the native mouse cursor instead of the in-game version. It works but breaks just a little immersion. I remember trying half the graphical settings, some which i had to reset after going to safe mode.

almost the same thing on Linux (more specifically Mint 17). Just the cursor has a white box around it, the transparency does not seem to work.

Really? I play ToME on a Mint 17 KDE install and I see the cursor just fine. Maybe it's a weird driver issue? I am using the official Nvidia drivers on my install and I've never had an issue with the cursor.

that could be it, currently I am using AMD's proprietary drivers.
