Hmm... this is a fairly clean install of Windows 10.. so I don't know. I'll keep trying.

Yeah, but the thing is I reinstalled it a month ago. I'd rather try and figure out why it
fails. I'll try and debug the software and see if I find something. It is probably something
really dumb that is causing it. :/
Solved it:

It turns out that the request to install DirectPlay isn't triggered in all cases.

The way to fix this is to:

1. Open "Programs & Features"
2. Open "Turn Windows features on or off"
3. In 'Legacy Components", select "DirectPlay". Followed by "OK"

Now it should work again :)

(Just in case someone else runs into the same issue)

I think that Gog should probably include a check to see if DirectPlay is really installed,
in a future update.

Sorry, just saw this. When I went to install T:TF on my Win10 PC, the installer asked to install the DP files. The first time, I refused, and the game installation failed. I activated the installer a second time, and was again asked if I wanted to install the DP files, and clicked "Yes", and everything was fine...game installed as it was supposed to.So, I can see how you had this problem...especially since the installer apparently didn't even query you to install DirectPlay. Glad you were able to figure that out. It's kind of odd to me, as the DP files are for multi-player, of which I have no plan to use, and as I understand it, the MP aspect of the game can no longer be used, as it is no longer supported. It would be nice if this DP requirement was just eliminated while installing, to prevent problems as far as I am concerned. GOG should look into this....
It worked fine for me, at first, until I got to the fringe (after the big frame job). I took the escort mission (finished successfully), hired the wingman, then took the hospital emergency mission (didnt want to choose sides yet in the Bora / GalSpan conflict), and the game crashed the moment I hit launch.

EDIT: Nevermind! It's working again.... Weird. Don't know what the heck that was!
