I tried modding the galaxy install and everything except the most important community patch worked. The community patch caused a black screen when I had it turned on, the game worked perfectly with all the other mods except that one. I suspect that Galaxy didn't install the universal update, but I'm downloading the whole lot again manually just to be sure.

Can anyone help me out with this? is it a different problem, does galaxy automatically apply the universal patch? it seemed to download 500mb+ when the main game is only 357MB, so something else is going on there.

(btw this is the first and only issue I've encountered with galaxy, its a supprisingly smooth launch compared to the early days of steam)

GOG uses 2.42 afaik, and the community patch requires 2.43. you will have to patch using SS2tool - this is pretty much required if you want to mod your install properly anyway.

just checked, and the Galaxy build seems to be using 2.4 (!), so yeah, anyone using it should update via the tool, asap.
