Over the 20 some years I've been playing this game, I've come to really appreciate the Security Level. Nothing spells atmosphere, immersion, doom, and dread more than this level. It's so huge too, truly flexes the engine capabilities. The music is fantastic and will change as you progress through the level. Very ominous.

Runner ups: Executive Level (inc Groves) and Research.

I'm gonna have to go with Executive. Best music, lots of stuff to explore, and unlike my runner-up, Security, no lingering threat of a perma-death. I also like the Storage level a lot.

Least favorite levels would be Maintenance and Bridge. They're intense but kind of in the wrong way IMO.

R - Reactor

I love the music there the same way I loved it 21 years ago :D

...and: the baseline reminds me of some good NiN songs ;)

Yeah that music was perfect for the setting of the Reactor Level. Level R, Flight Deck, and Systems Engineering all share similar music, with slight variations as you progress. :)

I have newfound respect for Systems Engineering, everytime I play through that level I learn something new, even 20 years later.
