I was digging around for something like a config file or something where I could set permanent video settings and perhaps skip all the opening stuff.

I should know better at this point what an "open source" or "closed source" game should look like, I've taken some programming classes and messed with mods for awhile. I'm sure some people only have the glance at the install and know everything they need to know.
