I've been trying to find the Shock demo everywhere since I heard of the hiatus, but it's gone. I am very grateful to have had it downloaded on GOG when it came out, as I can view it freely despite it having been free when de-listed. I think this is unlike Steam, but I didn't acquire the steam demo so I wouldn't know. To those who did have the Steam demo, do you still have it in your libraries, assuming that it wasn't already downloaded at time of de-listing?

Still in library but seeing how they have strayed very far from that demo in development of the game proper I see not much reason to ever replay it.

What is steamdb? I have never heard of it. The changelog for the GOG version has two entries, so I'm assuming it's the two patches. May I ask what the second Steam patch does? I can't find info on it.

the steam link doesn't work anymore, but the attached archive should be what was available there. there was only one patch afaik, it fixed some bugs/crashes, and added texture filtering for the decals (were untextured in the first release).

one way or another, pretty sure you will be able to complete the demo no matter whether you get the steam zip or the GOG installer (setup_system_shock_demo_2.2.0.4.exe).

that would make the systemshock.org download the final version (and the GOG download the second unpatched). good to know.

Following the discussions on the Discord channels of NDS, they repeatedly expressed that they still have a dedicated team working on it, and that the next update will be published around end of March/beginning of April.
