Hey. I recently bought System Shock 2 off this site because I hadn't ever played it and I'd wanted to for a while. So I dropped 10 bucks and downloaded it manually (rather than through the GOG downloader) and found that when I first ran the game, the title animation was garbled. After, the normal menu would show up for a couple milliseconds before the screen went dark and the menu reappeared all garbled and choppy. The menu works as far as I can tell, I can click all the icons if I can get my mouse to move over them (it jumps around the screen eratically and it's hard to control where it goes) and I managed to start a new game this way but the graphical bugs continued even after I managed to start a new game. I tried redownloading the game through the GOG downloader and still had the same issue. It's all a bit frustrating really.

Can anyone help me out here? The laptop I'm trying to play it on is running Windows 7, if that helps. Dell Studio 1558. I've downloaded both Direct X9 and VC++2008. Thanks for your time.
you should have a shock2.log file in your SS2 folder, post the contents here. have you tried to update your graphics drivers? that would be a good start.
Well. I updated the drivers and it looks like that's all I needed to do. It's working fine now. Thanks a ton!
