wulfgar4376: Just to clarify: the version mentioned in this thread 2.0.0.3 is the old dos version and is also entitled as the classic version. The latest enhanced version is 1.2.16. So don't get confused about the numbers.
That 2.0.0.3 installer does not install or use DosBOX. though these file sizes do suggest the use of a wrapping trick:

wulfgar4376: Yes, the link provided by gerwin79 contains a version which is compiled in a way that allows shockolate to be run on win xp.
it is mainly for the inclusion of a XP compatible "libfluidsynth-1.dll".

voodoo47: 99.99% sure it never ran on winxp - I was barely able to get the first release running on win7 32bit (the latest build needs 64bit afaik). vista could be possible, but even that is a big maybe.
It ran perfectly on XP. I beat the entire game on it. The new revised EE is probably a Vista+ x32 compatible executable, as was the trend at the time before things moved on to x64.

this was about the source port build if it weren't obvious. you know, the thing that has 3d acceleration and stuff.
