Fresh install - no special chars in path.
Click on PLAY button, button turn to gray, and after few sec is green again. No error.
Run as Admin or compatibility mode do not solve anything...
Run directly sshock.exe have same symptoms - no error, no window, thread starts but is terminated after 1-2 sec.
Uninstall, clean everything manually, install again and still do not run.
[Win 10 pro 64b, i5 16G RAM. GForce 1060, everything latest drivers]
