Its all well and good that System Shock 2 is back and better than ever... but what about the editor? I know a bunch of stuff in the game was changed, so if I bought this game could I use the old Shocked editor or is there a new version of that editor I have to use? It overwrites a bunch of files when you install it like a bunch of CFG, Res, DLL files, and some others. So I'm guessing that would probably break the new version of this game if you tried to install those old files over the new ones.
SS2tool will install the ShockEd editor properly for you.

Awesome, thanks! :D

And yeah I know the level editor is a nightmare. I'm just trying to remember how to edit stuff like weapon and enemy stats and similar stuff, to add difficulty to the game. I used to do it years back. I don't remember what I did, but ShockEd is the only editor I remember. Its been too long.

And that's lame... why did they disable the [img] command? I've had enough of their paranoid overreaction to NSFW and copywritten images on the AdultSwim forums... not you too GOG. :(

voodoo47: an updated NewDark version of the editor is available (in the SS2 2.42 package), but make sure you install the toolkit first (so basically, GOG install+ss2tool+toolkit+editor.zip from the NewDark package). some nifty stuff there, like the hw accelerated mode, and more.
Wait a minute...

Okay I see the two links you just gave me but then you say to install 3 things after the game install. What is the ss2tool? I don't see that in your links.

voodoo47: but ye be warned;

//seriously GOG, [img] disabled?
It's not disabled, it has never been included in the first place.
see the sticky post for a link to the tool.

btw, there is a dedicated modding section over at systemshock.org, you might want to check there if you have some Shocked specific questions.

Thanks Voodoo, they helped me with that last question I had about if ShockEd was the right program.
