Some questions that will mildly influence my purchase:

Does it still use General Midi for music playback? If so is it still hardcoded to midi output device 0, or does it have a built in switcher? If it is hard-coded, does the old hack listed on the PCGamingWiki website still work?

I noticed that PCGamingWiki only lists MSAA options for antialiasing. MSAA really doesn’t cut it for games without texture filtering, as there is still egregious aliasing inside the polygons. Is there an FSAA or “resolution scale” option? This would be much preferred, as I can’t supersample on my current system.

Don't know about the music but I can comment on the graphics. Do you realize how old this game is, it is one of the first games with a "proper" first person view. The textures are very low resolution, you cannot make it better with filtering (only makes them blurry) . And really, anti-aliasing also does not matter much with graphics assets this old, MSAA is quite enough here. But if you know and accept the "oldness" of the graphics and love good scifi adventure, you are in for a real treat! Control issues are also mostly gone since this enhanced edition has good customizable and modernized control options. I just tried it since the source port came out, and it looks and feels good, I have played SS a dozen times since it was first released in 1994, heh.

Yes it uses MIDI, with VirtualMIDISynth I changed midi system-wide to YmF-7x4 Final 44100-16bit (installed separately), everything works fine.

Yes, I realize how old this game is; that is precisely why I want FSAA (not to be confused with FXAA) instead of MSAA.
I’d actually rather have no antialiasing than use MSAA if I have texture filtering disabled (which I obviously will, the artwork wasn’t designed with texture filtering in mind). The way that MSAA works is that it only affects edges of polygons. This means that there is still major aliasing inbetween the individual pixels of the texture.
