I've never asked myself about this and i couldn't find any details on it specifically.

When Powered Armor has the power it's +50 DEF rating. But what happens when it has no power at all? Does it drop to 0 (zero) or does it still provide some of the protection?

Was wondering this myself. Here's hoping for an answer.

If I remember correctly, once drained, it will go back into your inventory. If there is no space available it will be dropped.

Don't quote me on this though.

I know it doesn't go into my inventory when the power runs out... but i have no clue what it does when power runs out.

then again, i run around with 3 las-pistols and a metric crap-ton of batteries...

Having checked the TTLG forums, it looks like the defense rating drops to zero. Power Armor also apparently gives a bonus against energy attacks.

There's a PSI power for recharging energy hungry equipment, which is invaluable late game. Batteries are scarce throughout the game and Recharge stations are basically non-existent from Rickenbacker on.

Too bad I found out too late, I got rid of my Power Armor coz I kept running out of juice, then I discovered that skill. Then again, Heavy Armor is not half bad either.

Thx, i was wondering about this because if you open the description of the item it says its a composite material with an energy shield overlaying it. So i naturally assumed it has some protection properties on its own but needs power for the 100% protection it otherwise offers. I guess i'll be using it on Von Braun and then replace it with Heavy Armor for the Rickenbacker.
