The Steam version got a Linux version recently, any news on whether the GOG version will get the same support ?
Bumping, cause still I don't want to buy DRM version for Linux. I will be very thankful for any infomation about support.
While the game works fine via WINE, the patch cannot be installed - at least, not without installing extra DLLs. It can be extracted with innoextract (which is proving to be a very valuable little tool, as every GOG game I've tried installing lately was either broken or very broken - what have they done to the installers?), but the game has files named in uppercase, while the patch has files named in lowercase. That on top of not really being sure if it all goes into the main directory or one of the subdirectories. Running the patch's "Shock2.exe" seems to work, but there's no obvious indication if it's using the patched files or not.
I wrote an Email to Night Dive Studios. I will keep you postet if they reply.
Are you sure the steam version doesn't use wine?

GoG Mac version does.

You are right, it's just pre-bundled with wine...
Well at least it works fine

There are many cases where wine is the only answer and does work fine.
