The GOG version of the game thinks I have an AZERTY keyboard instead of a QWERTY one. I guess it does simply a language check on the OS instead of actually checking the regional settings.

Long story short, this actually messes up all the bindings and makes chatting in multiplayer a pain in the ass. Any way to change the keyboard type in a config file?

look around the cam_ext.cfg file, I think there were some keyboard related settings there.

Yeah I found this in the config file but I don't think it's working :

; enable extended keyboard language detection to allow the game to more accurately detect supported layouts,
; it also adds support for detection of UK and French Canadian keyboards. NOTE: if the game previously failed
; to detect the layout, so it used the default English-US, the key bindings may have to be redone

My keyboard is French Canadian and the game detects it as AZERTY which isn't the default English-US. Seems it is borked.

Can I try to delete that?

enable it by removing the ; character from the ;ext_kb_country_check and see whether it helps.

I was trapped with the AZERTY bug as well on a French-Canadian kb layout so this is gold. +1rep
