I'm a couple of hours in and am playing as a Psi Ops so I didn't start with any points in Hacking or Research. My simple question is at what point do I receive points to put into these skills? I have already been to an O/S station to upgrade my skills but getting a +2 in hacking is useless I figured because I still haven't training any points into hacking.

Uhm, you can always put any amount of cyber modules into any skill as long as you have enough cyber modules. On Normal you need 10 CMs to "buy" Hacking lvl 1.

he is probably asking whether it's worth to invest - and I would say yes, get the first level of research and the first two levels of hacking. it's just a few modules, and it will expand your abilities for quite a bit. plus you can boost hack even further with psychogenic cyber affinity.
