Hi,

so, thanks to the Enhanced Edition I finally got into System Shock 1 - I still consider SS2 to be one of the best games ever made, but SS1's missing mouselook turned me off. However, I'm a little confused. I just found a restoration bay on level 1 (the one with the log about turning people into cyborgs). I flipped the switch and now I'm standing inside the cage. However, I don't get healed. There's nothing I can click so I'm unsure how to proceed. Am I missing something obvious?

Best regards,
NalimX

Those aren't healingstations, the restoration bays only bring you back to life after you've been killed, the idea behind it is that mutants bring your corpse there, if you haven't flipped the switch you'll be turned into a cortex reaver, if you have flipped the switch it functions as a respawn point.

Look for healingstations like the one in the medbay where you awakened after the coma, those can heal you.
That doesn't heal you. It revives you. What you're looking for is like a cryotube from aliens but bright green. There is one at the start of the level in the Medical Bay.
Thank you both!
It was fun years ago trying to figure out how to be healed from the Restoration chamber, I was clicking all the panels on the wall around it but to no avail. Come to think of it, I don't think Shock 2 provided healing from these either, unless of course you died.
