I have just bought SS2 and I tried to install it on my Mac using CrossOver which usually works fine but I'm getting an error. Have any of you guys had the same problem?

I am running it on a Macbook unibody with Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

I'd recommend trying to install via Wineskin Winery. It's free, and I've gotten SS2 running flawlessly via Wineskin on OS X.

Try this:

1) create an XP bottle
2) in that bottle install:
Platform SDK Redistributable: GDI+
Microsoft DirectX Runtime - Modern
3) try running the installer in this bottle and install


What version of Crossover do you have? The GDI+ issue should not happen anymore.

I was getting a gdiplus error during the install in Ubuntu 12.10 with whatever version of Wine is in the default repositories. When I specified Wine to use the native Windows gdiplus, the install worked, but none of the buttons for the install interface were visible or clickable (just lucky tabbing and spacebar pressing got around that). The game itself works flawlessly so far, though.

I have the game working great through wineskin, but I'm not able to play multiplayer. There is no host IP address when I try to host, and I'm unable to join. Anyone have any ideas?
