I accidentally saved after enabling the laser without turning on the shield. Anyone has a save file at around that point?

Is it bugged so that if you see the Human Destruction ending you cannot continue w/ the game?
I saw the ending just for shiggles and then proceeded to clear several levels and am now having issues completing the mission associated with it (get confirmations that the objective is completed, but no messages are sent nor cutscenes played).
