I know that the game had some bugs, particulalrly the blank screen on death in co-op, that need ironing out - did the devs take multiplayer offline on purpose?

haven't been able to connect to game nor use the global chat, all I get is "connection failed, check your internet connection" - have played without connection issues so far so not sure what's going on.
