Will not open. Messsage says 3d rendering engine could not be initialized.

While there might be someone in the community able to help you, it's probably best to contact GOG's support about this issue. This might also lead to patches for future players.

Oh! And you need to tell the person you expect help from something about your system. Like your OS and maybe what graphic card you're using.

Try going into Compatibility Settings and choose "Run in 640x480 screen resolution".
That worked (for me)
