I've looked at some walkthroughs and I'm trying to be careful to not see too much and ruin it for me. But from what I have seen it seems like I should be able to get this kid to draw the dang mammoth already but no dice. I've got the ink from the desk. I've turned on the light and looked at the mammoth etching on the wall. What else do I need to do?

It's not too fresh in my mind (though I actually replayed this recently, but didn't stumble here). You know you can use items on things? So I think you just use the paper on the mammoth drawing.
