Hey guys.
I've got a problem with my Syberia installation. It worked perfectly until just the other day, then all of a sudden it decided to not want to function any more. The error message is that the DirectX Sound Engine Failed to Initialize, and then it claims that I don't have a sound card installed.
The relevant part of the debug.log says:
"Testing sound hardware...
Error: Sound manager is not initialized. Is there a sound card or is another application is using the sound system?
CCKApplication::InitApplication() failed. Exiting.
Shutting down CCKApplication."
I don't have anything else that uses the sound card active, and I have no problems with any other games. Any ideas?
