Trying to play Syberia on my Asus EeePC 1000HE running Windows XP, I find that the sound during cutscenes is very choppy and during normal gameplay it seems out of sync with the animations. I know next to nothing about computer sound cards and sound issues, but following suggestions on other fora, I tried turning down the hardware acceleration on the sound card and updating the driver, both of which did absolutely nothing. (I have exactly the same problem with Myst III: Exile, which I recently bought used on CD.) Any suggestions?
