Thanks, I checked it some time ago. I prefer the original Doom :).
Maybe there are some other titles around? I feel that sci-fi setting is not so popular for roguelikes but nonetheless...

Check this - http://roguebasin.roguelikedevelopment.org/index.php?title=List_of_roguelikes_by_theme - there is a short list of scifi rl. Maybe there are some other titles around? I feel that sci-fi setting is not so popular for roguelikes but nonetheless...
And maybe - 3079 (or newer 3089) - but that is FPSish roguelike (or roguelikish FPS) - http://www.desura.com/games/3079

Oh, I already checked Roguebasin's list too..:) I hoped someone could advise a game that one played.
3079 looks cool, with all of these retro-cube visuals... But I try to find something like 2D isometric sci-fi roguelike, say if Diablo 1 was on Jupiter :) The Pit is a really cool game but it looks slightly...I don't know... infantile for my taste.
Thanks for reply though.

yeah tome.
te4.org. if you donate a few dollars/euros you get custom tiles too.
So there is a nice selection of available character avatars.
Tome seems to be quite an epic, and you can unlock lots of content along the way.
For instance there are amazing new classes, and gameplay features.
Darkgod seems to have and is still putting a lot of effort into development, late May came out the latest v. 1.0.4.
But yeah, wish there was a kickass scifi roguelike somewhere.

Alphaman is a decent roguelike I played a lot growing up, no tiles as far as I know, but definitely scifi. tiles are overrated anyway. go play the original rogue.

Pit is pretty good - One of the better purchases I've made during 2013's SUMMER SALE.
Reading between my lines Pit is $5 or $6 good NOT $10 good.

Crawl is one of my old favorites (Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is the most current version, still updated regularly), but other roguelikes that I enjoy currently are Cataclysm, Caves of Qud, and UnReal World. Roguebasin (google it) is a great starting point for anyone wanting to have a look at the current roguelike landscape.
