Sword of the Stars - The Pit is a good game but with two main problems: 1. It's all about luck, not strategy 2. You can't save when you want and when you're dead, game over! No reload. I wrote a little utility that allows saving/restoring up to six games for each of the three classes. It's a bit cumbersome because you need to "save and exit" every time (But not actually exit the game) but it's the best that can be done without decompiling the game exe, something I just wont do to be fair to the game creator. If you want it (No charge of course) just let me know.
