Hi guys,

i have an problem with SWAT3: i applied the "Last Resort" mod (better support on modern systems) and "dgvoodoo" for fixing framerate problems.

However setting the options like here is causing me an headache. When starting the game, everything is in black & white, has some weird graphical issues in the menus and in-game there are now glitching textures (see my attachments).

I found out, if i select "Direct3D 11 MS WARP (software)" under "Output API" in dgvoodoo, those weird glitches are gone. The problem now is that i have only 5-10 fps again.

Somewhere i read that the latest AMD Drivers are having issues with DirectX 8 games (sorry dont know where i read that).
Does anyone know a fix for this issue? I really, really would appreciate an solution or an advice. SWAT 3 is one of my favorite tactical shooters (the other one is SWAT 4, which works flawless :D).

My pc specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i7 5820K
- RAM: DDR4-3666 16GB
- OS: Windows 10 1909 (Build: 18363.535)
- GPU: AMD Radeon R9 Fury X with the latest Adrenalin Driver (19.12.3)
- Game is installed on an normal HDD (not SSD)

EDIT: Hmm i'm not allowed to attach pictures. So here is a link to a picture of my issue:

Never seen this problem before, lol.

These are the settings for dgVoodoo that works for me with Swat 3:

I am using an Nvidia card though.

I would recommend turning off the Last Resort mod first until you solve the dgvoodoo problem. There is a toggle switch at the top of the Last Resort launcher that returns the game to vanilla mode without having to uninstall the mod.
Thank you, Slippery_Jim for trying to help me.

Yeah, i'm using the same settings in dgvoodoo like you or mentioned on the Last Resort website.

I can play SWAT 3, when i choose an resolution not higher than 800x600 and removing dgvoodoo from my game directory OR set it to the software renderer (sic).
Also disabling Last Resort changed nothing (forgot to mention that in the first post).

So i think i rather play it in 800x600, because thats better than nothing.
Worst case scenario you could always try one of the alternatives listed on that page such as DxWnd.

I would rather play in 800x600 than in window mode. Somehow this disturbs me very much and an low resolution is not such an big issue for me.
Also WineD3D is not an option, because its using OpenAL as an wrapper and AMD graphics card are a really bad choice for this.

Well with DxWnd you can choose a "full screen" borderless window if I recall. It is almost like having it full screen.

BUMP.

I am having this exact same issue, and those are just about my exact same specs. Any solution ever found?
White textures are caused by the infamous "AMD Bug".

Dege has no intention of fixing it, hes quite content blaming AMD rather than dealing with the fact that their drivers changed and won't ever go back.

You need to use DX12 rendering only in the newest dgvoodoo build, you also need to use fast memory access in the directx tab, this should fix it.

Otherwise you'd need to downgrade to dgvoodoo 2.54.

With modern AMD drivers and dgVoodoo you need to:

- Use Direct3D 12 as an output rendering API

- Turn on "Fast video memory access"

- Turn off "Radeon Anti-Lag" feature in AMD Software
