Swat 3 Files detected as Trojan Horse from my antivirus scan. Have anyone seen this? The specific file is called "AccountWizard.exe"

Yes. It's a false positive.

It's safe to delete the AccountWizard.exe the Swat 3 WON servers have been shut down. No need to create an account anymore.

A few years later, but still... The same file was detected as a trojan horse by my Antivirus program as well.
What's up with that?

The accountwizard.exe looks like it was coded with VisualBasic (well more likely Visual C++) and I have found lately that some anti-virus programs trigger a false positive on older VB apps.

I think the problem stems from how the executable gets compiled. I still use the ancient VB6 for some of my apps and depending how I compile it I get some false positives every once and a while.

When you compile the code you can choose p-code format or native code format. One of those seems to cause problems (can't remember which one off the top of my head).

False positives are the only thing any AV I have used ever finds. They waste my time making sure it is not a real virus. Annoying. Avira is the worst offender.
