While SWAT 4's default key bindings are a massive improvement over SWAT 3's, there are still many essential actions that have awkward and hard-to-reach defaults (crouch: c, flashlight: v, handcuffs: h..) Here is my attempt to streamline them.

Okay, as a person with hand problems... how are C, V and H hard to reach?

C makes it impossible to strafe right while crouching. H requires me to take my hand off WASD entirely. V could be hit with just my thumb, but it's slightly off center from the space bar, requiring me to look down at the keyboard to toggle it.

You must have small hands. ;)

I'd share in full but print screen doesn't work in this game for me and I haven't bothered to hook it up to Steam for its own screenshot key, if that would even work better at all (a fully black screen is all I get to paste in after using print screen).

I can remember that I have the flashlight on the middle mouse button, crouch (toggle) on Ctrl and handcuffs on Z. C is set to switch fire modes (so no real need to do it during strafing), the two extra thumb mouse buttons have melee and quick command (instead of space which is easy to press by accident at times), right click is zoom as in modern FPS. I'm not too deep in the game but I believe I've only left the defaults and other hard to reach keys for things I don't think are of real use like the throw lightstick command (L).

I use the classic SWAT 3 style always active squad commands.

This game could have used a radial menu for the equipment. SWAT3 also (which actually has a radial display but it isn't there to let you quick select stuff, it's just to remind you of what you have on you, what's equipped and which F key selects what, sad). Maybe if anyone revives the series or does a spiritual successor they will make something more intuitive for this. Fat chance of a successor of course...
