I was not very impressed about the war of Russia vs Poland and USA (Modern World Mod) where the russian AI send all "mele" units to repair or lost them and left some 100 artys where they are with some tanks just running over them.
It is better to control the army on your own and it is not that hard.
Now that is for SR2020
Just put 7 tanks together on one hex (Merkavar from Israel, GER Leopard 2, french - forgot the name) and use them as a group. And on another hex 7 mechanized inf US Bradley, GER Puma, Israel Namer).
On a hex behind there are 6 selfpropelled artys (at the beginning Rihnos from South Africa or german PZH2000) and one supplytruck (if it is one with 240 tons or so, the outdated high speed supply traktor of the USA is the best) and on another hex there are 5 self propelled rocket artys (they need more supplys, russia has the ones with the longest range after some month) and 2 supplytrucks. And somewhere around is a long range rocket AA (I recomend the selfpropelled of the russians SA400 I think). Only normal Inf that can be used are the special forces types. Good for city defence. But all mechanized is mostly better.
I can write about air too if you want.
The AI will not build this units mostly because they are less cost effective so you have to build the army on your own and sadly you have to control the army because the AI tends to forget to resupply. And the AI will never use the units effectivly. Tanks vs digged in Inf in a city is a bad idea...
Economy works better but it is still better to do it on your own. And be shure that world economy will crash because all big nation will start to build unit factorys like crazy and then they will burn their money away with building units.
