Hi all.
I recently bought Sunless Sea and it’s Zubmarina add on. The game installed and seems to run ok, but subsequently a message pops up on the Galaxy home page, to say an update has failed and that the installation is corrupt. (“Try again or uninstall”). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the issue persisted. I tried using the option to repair the files and no diffence. I checked the version and from memory (not in front of it right now) it’s 2.7. Something. Meanwhile the game runs normally as far as I can tell. What should the latest version be? Shall I just ignore it? Or is it a warning sign of something worse down the road and I should go for a refund.

Thanks
Badger
Current version for Sunless Sea is 2.2.7.3165, this is probably this one you misremembered as 2.7 ;)

To me it looks like a Galaxy issue, especially if the game is running well. Sadly I will not be able to help further, as I do not use Galaxy.
I also have been having the game update and fail each time I open GOG Galaxy. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying the game files, and uninstalling, wiping all data from the GOG install location and the app-data folder and then reinstalling after a reboot, nothing is fixing it.
Same here, all updates fail (every game), they reach 96% then after staying at that for about 30 seconds I get the "update fail" report. definitely a GOG Galaxy problem?
Exact same issue. -.-
I am having the same issue. I think it is a problem with the expansion installing. If you check the settings for the expansion it shows up as unchecked. When ever i check the box it downloads it but then the install fails. The same happens when I try to verify the game files. I think It is definitely a issue with Galaxy not recognizing the Submariner expansion.

I will download the offline installers and install it that way. It is probably worth it report the issue to GOG.
I wonder if the Submariner exe was not packaged properly for Galaxy updates and installs. GOG used to have two different types and some games still do. Where some of the offline installers are not recognized by Galaxy. This is probably the case here.

The "Update Failed" is also a message that pops up for me the last couple of days.
Uninstalling and re-installing doesn't seem to resolve the issue.

Patch version 2.2.7.3165 (17 april 2019).

For the time being i'm going with the offline installer.
Yeah, i have the same problem myself.
Anyone know how to solve this?
Also, this happened with 2 other games as well (but the rest of the games installed and updated without a problem).
So, could this be a galaxy problem?
So what, guys? Did the offline installers help??

Unfortunately, they don't. The offline installers seem to register the game in Galaxy and Galaxy attempts to update them, corrupting the installation.

See newer thread here.
