So, i have a Problem with Sunless Sea Zubmariner.
I bought it on release (when it still was standalone) and installed it via GoG Galaxy.
everything works fine, there are some little bugs, but nothing which would make the game unplayable.
Yesterday GiG Galaxy tried to download an update for sunless sea.
It is really big (314 MB) but everytime it end i get the message "Sunless Sea Update failed".
Galaxy tried multiple times to update but everytime it does it fails.

So, is there some error, something i can do?
As i already played the base game and now continued my captains voyage into the underzee
i'm a little bit worried to reinstall the whole game because of loosing everything i got.

So, can anybody help?

I'm having the exact same issue. Is there a workaround or any info from Failbetter or GoG?

I even tried disabling auto-update, and it keeps eternally trying to download the install the update over and over.
I'm getting the same issue myself, thought I broke something.
I have gotten this problem aswell all of a sudden. (Well a fee days ago I did a reinstall of my computer and redirected Gog Galaxy to the install folder and everything has worked since then... until today, a week later). I have uninstalled and installed again. The it tries updating and fails. Even if I cancel the update it soon tries again when klicking on the game.
Same problem here.

Using offline installers (base game + Zubmariner DLC) doesn't work because the offline installers seem to register the game in Galaxy. Galaxy will keep trying to update the game and corrupt the installation as a result.

Turning off auto-update either at the per-game level or globally also doesn't affect this - it will update regardless.
Suffer on the same problem.

Tried different combinations with "auto-update on/off" at different times. After uninstalling gog galaxy first downloads a
274MB package - seems to be the main game on starting - afterwards anothter package with 320MB is successfully installed. Now the game starts 1x time. After that another download is started (even if auto-update off). Size 335MB and the installation fails in everytime.

Gog Support contacted.

Had the Same Problem and contacted support. They told me they're aware of the problem and that while they are working on it, I should just download the files without GOG-Galaxy.

Got exactly the same answer. So we gotta hope and trust ;-)

The workaround did work, by the way. Far more easy (so easy I did not think of it in the first place) is to start the game in windows startmenu. Jumps into Galaxy and starts the game.
Have this problem again, reinstall, verifying, not keeping up to date - nothing works. Contacted support, got info about whitelisting Galaxy properly in my OS - did that, logged into my Fallen London account, downloaded extra stories. For day and half it was solved, now its back again, ticket reopened.

However in the meantime I uninstalled the game, it is such annoying, I play online game and every 15 minutes I get lags, because Sunless Sea is doing it again - no way.

And that I say, while the game works just fine - furhtermore, Galaxy keeps trying to update it even while I play it. Well, not anymore, until this is solved.

I would actualy love just a solution how to install the game, and then tell Galaxy to completely ignore it.

EDIT : Just noticed before I wiped it, that when it brakes itself, the DLC suddenly appears not to be installed while in install configuration.

The only option is to use the offline installers, but first you will need to remove the link between GOG GALAXY and the game, otherwise GOG GALAXY will recognise it and add it. I don't know how to do that last part with any precision, so you might have to completely nuke (remove and then reinstall) the app:

The instruction for a complete uninstall that I got from GOG support:

"First uninstall GOG GALAXY by running the unins000.exe file located in the GOG GALAXY installation folder (by default C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG GALAXY).

Then make sure that following folders are also removed:
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com
C:\Users\All Users\GOG.com
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Configuration
where *username* should be your Windows Account Username.
You may need to show hidden files and folders in the "Folder and search options", if you haven't done so already.

Restart your computer. Then download the latest version of GOG GALAXY and run the installation as administrator."

Install GOG GALAXY.

Use offline installers to install Sunless Sea. GOG GALAXY shouldn't detect it.

WARNING: This will remove all your games from the app (but not from your computer), and you will have to add them again.
