Im not sure what to do here, i loved this game when i was a teen and so it was a insta buy. So i get it installed, tried auto detect and things and not getting any card detected. Its obviously there since i can see a picture on the screen and the new Thief game works fine. I tried the unofficial patch posted in another thread too and no joy.

Im using
Windows 8.1 Pro
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 ghz edition with the latest drivers (Tried the new beta driver too)
8 gigs system ram

Thanks for any help
The only way I've managed to get this working is using a 3DFX Glide emulator, it seems its the Direct X 3d stuff thats busted. Does that give anyone ideas?

Hi,

I've Win8.1 and the only way to detect any 3D card is by choosing execution with compatible mode Win98/ME.

Unfortunately this way the game asks for the CD-ROM.

------

Ok after a while I found this:

1. start the game in Win98/ME compatibility mode, click on setup and detect video card;
2. the game should find your D3D video card so press Play and the game may ask for CD-ROM so press on Cancel;
3. install the timeslip patch;
4. remove the compatibility flag and start the game normally

It should start perfectly now.
