Hi everyone,
I just bought the game and started it up for the first time, but intro was choppy as hell - to the point I rather watched it on Youtube and in ingame settings stopped intro from playing. But even after that the game still starts with Windows bar visible - it looks ugly and, worse, it's impractical. If I hide the bar in Windows it actually solves nothing, because anytime mouse pointer is near the bottom of the screen, it pops out again.
Any advices on that are very welcome!
EDIT:
I tried obvious stuff: toggle between fullscreen and windowed version, looking for some kind of .ini file (which I didn't find), force graphic driver to run the game fullscreen. Nothing helped.
EDIT2:
If I turn set "Turn off fullscreen optimization" in compatibility mode, it makes the Windows bar disappear. But the game is unplayable (like 10FPS) and can't change ingame resolution.
...and now even turning off fullscreen optimization doesn't work. I'm starting to regret buying this.
FINALLY, SOLUTION (also helps to get better fps):
1. Turn off GOG Galaxy (it messes with the game somehow)
2. Set your native resolution to one which you wish to play the game in (for me It's 1280x720 - characters are bit blurry, but doesn't look really bad)
3. Open the game folder -> right click stygian.exe -> properities -> turn on the settings "run as administrator" and mainly "turn off the fullscreen optimization" (my OS native language is in czech, so I just guess the translation)
4. Run the game by clicking on stygian.exe
5. In game settings turn on v-sync, set the resolution, turn on fullscreen and you can fool around with details options.
6. Restart the game and run it again.
7. Enjoy!
My laptop is basically a steam-engine-powered potato and now I can run game pretty smoothly on medium details and 1280x720 resolution. It does look OK - nothing terrible really.
