For some reason "Internet TCP/IP Connection For DirectPlay" displays my router's local "192." address and not the Cable modem's IP visible to the internet. In a spectacular coincidence, I haven't been able to successfully host an online game. The PC is on a DMZ through my router, ports controlled via Windows Firewall. As far as I can tell, the firewall isn't blocking Crusader, and canyousee.org reports "service visible" at TCP 47624 when attempting to host a game.

Is it possible to get online multiplayer working through this feature? What are my options?

Try this - http://www.gameranger.com/
You can VPN (I personally have had terrible luck with gameranger, but gameranger fans love it -- so give it a try).

I've noticed a lot of old games completely fail with hamachi installed on your system. If you have hamachi, I'd recommend uninstalling it (just turning it off doesn't work).

You can try to download an IPX wrapper for Windows 7 (assuming that's your OS) and connecting via IPX if that option is available in this game (I can't remember if it is).

You can get another VPN app (TeamViewer has had nearly 100% success rate for me -- only Medieval II Total War wouldn't work with it so far).

Also, those who are trying to connect to you could be stopped by their firewall (software or router) or even, in some cases, the ISP (I've had especially bad problems with NAT issues from an old ISP).

Those are my ideas. I know it's frustrating, but I wish you luck!
Hi,
I want to verify TCP/IP configuration of my 3G modem on the client and server side like IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS settings. I want to know about what setting will be best for the 3G industrial modem of a small office.
