Stronghold Crusader has recently stopped working on my Mac. It has been working perfectly up until now, when first the cursor disappeared and now the application will not open. I have deleted the app and re-downloaded and reinstalled, but this has not fixed anything.

When I try to open the app I get this message:
“Stronghold Crusader HD.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Did you download it using the GOG Downloader, or just using your browser? If the latter, try the former :). There is also a suggestion using Terminal (given below) but I've never had to try it.

From the support FAQ:

Game "is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."
a) Redownload the game using the newest version of the GOG Downloader:
https://secure.gog.com/downloader
To download, make sure the "GOG.com Downloader mode" is switched to ON before clicking the "Game installer" button. After the download is complete, reinstall the game.
b) Use this workaround if using the Download didn't help:
- Go to Applications -> Terminal
- Type in:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine
but don't press Enter.
- Drag the application to the Terminal window, this should add the path.
- Press Enter.

Another thing I have tried (with other games) which works sometimes is to go to "Security & Privacy" (in System Preferences) and change "Allow apps downloaded from:" to "Anywhere". Then try starting the app again. I have no idea why this works, after all it's not fixing the file, but I have had success with it.

I just downloaded and installed Stronghold Crusader HD on my Mac. it was run but the cursor was appeared and can be moved until I clicked the cursor and then it's gone. I can still operate the game like clicking the bars and its working. the only matter is I don't know where the cursor is as it didn't appear. so, how I supposed to play this game when I didn't see the cursor? please, I really need your help to fix this issue.

I have the exact same problem on my Mac and the solutions I find online are all aimed at Windows. Would appreciate the help!

I JUST ran into this same problem! I was able to fix it by opening the GOG app, clicking the "More" option next to the play option, and going to Manage Installation > Verify/Repair. After reverifying the game, everything seemed to work fine. Hope this helps!

I don't even know if mine installed properly. Nothing happens. All I get is the GOG page opening then when I try to play nothing happens. I hate these so called improvements these damn sites install. It worked fine before and if it's not broken stop getting your fucking filthy toddler fingers all over it. GOG have become extremely disappointing.
