Eh, I'd hold off.
-Tiny maps
-No more than 1 block thick walls
-UI is clunky
-The Campaign revolves around the Wolf mysteriously coming back from the dead (because apparently being impaled with a sword and falling 50ft off a keep to your death is survivable) and is mostly forgettable, which is unfortunate, because this ( is the meat of the game. This wouldn't be so bad, if it were not for our next problem...
-There is no Skirmish Mode. The reason there is no Skirmish Mode, IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO AI. Everything AI wise in the missions is scripted.
-Multiplayer has a maximum of 4 players, on 4 maps, all of which are roughly the size of my back garden.
Now for some nice things
-The game itself is very pretty looking. It's not Crysis tier, but compared to previous strongholds this is vereh nice indeed
-The new music is pleasant to listen to, unlike 2's music, most of which sucked.
-Stupid stuff from Stronghold 2 removed
-The map editor looks to be most capable AND ACTUALLY HAS TEXT MESSAGES IN NOW
Most of my grievances come from design issues, and not actual bugs and glitches. The problem I think the is the most to blame for SH3 being bad, though, is the much touted Castle Crumbling Destruction System Thingy Esque thing. I mean we have EXPLOSIONS AND FIRE AND STUFF now. This is what Firefly spent 3 years on: making a system that looked pretty and not making the core of the game actually fun to play.
