If my title wasn't clear, I just wonder if I buy Crusader can I choose to launch the basic game or Crusader when I launch it? I mean will I be able to play both campaigns and use either terrain type in a freebuild? The campaign and terrain types from the original are so different that it'd be nice to have both. It's been so long that I just don't remember. Either way, I agree that this is one of the beast games ever. One more positive association I have with the word "Firefly."

Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader are separate games with individual installers. You would just choose to play whichever game you want to play, provided you have them both installed.
So I have to buy them both separately if I want to choose? They are stand-alone? Sorry if I'm asking a dumb q but I don't wanna spend $ twice if I don't have to. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, they are two separate standalone games.
