Its been ages since I played this game and recently came across GOG and purchased Strike Commander. Always loved this game and was excited to give it a go again. I got it installed fine and it runs on my current gaming PC, but the graphic display is very blocky and pixelated. I am running Windows 7 with a ATI Radeon crossfire graphic card setup. I know the graphics in this game are not up to current standards but i recall the graphics in this always being pretty amazing. I think my issue may be my current monitor, I use a TV monitor (32 inch) for my current setup, and I am thinking this may be too much for the max resolution of this game, I have tried various settings in the graphic setup that comes with this version but nothing seems to make a difference. I've also tried lowering my screen resolution down to the lowest level (800 x 600) but that does not make much difference either. I will try dragging out an old 19 inch monitor and see if that makes any difference. Any other tips/suggestions to try?

Also I am wondering if anyone knows if this version will support an LAPC-1/MT-32 as the sound setup for the game. I had an MT-32 back ages ago when I first played this and the music was amazing using that as the sound device. Thanks for any tips/suggestions.
You can try to use filters/scalers to see if that would make any difference, note that surface and overlay output don't support scalers and surface doesn't even support custom resolutions.

LAPC-1/MT-32 should work in Dosbox but due to Roland owning the rights of the original samples it won't sound like the real hardware.
Yes the game supports MT-32 but also General MIDI.

That's not quite true. First of all, due to licensing, default dosbox does not support mt32 (and compatible) emulation but you can plug in a real one into your computer with midi to usb cable and have the OS patch dosbox to the mt32 device. Midi as a protocol just relays information and it's up to the receiver to interpret. A general Midi device will sound off, but a MT32 compatible device would interpret the signal as intended.

To emulate mt32 you must acquire the PCM and Control Roms which really isn't legal but likely no one will stop you. If you want to go into details, there was a 10 year old court case which was ruled in favor of the munt developers as roland as of yet has been unable to prove their copyright. but take that with a grain of salt and not as a license to do what you want.

Anyway, you then must use them with a version of dosbox that has been compiled with MUNT such as taewong's dosbox build or compile the mt32emu with the QT interface yourself. You then patch dosbox to it through your OS's midi system.

Munt as of this writing currently is darn close to a real mt32/cm-32L and most won't be able to tell the difference. There are no alternative samples to use.

Hi I'm trying to play pinball mania from the pinball fantasies deluxe pack but I'm having trouble getting the settings right for the display on a 32" TV, sometimes it's completely off center sometimes it's too big or too small for the screen plus the sound and display are out of sync, any suggestions?

Wrong subforum, though you might want to try my .conf files.
