philscomputerlab: I'm really sorry about this. I've made a new, much better, Tweak Guide and will post it in the main Strike Commander forum section.
Wingnut447: Thanks! I'll check in there. I've about given up on GOG/DOSBox games as I've found no useful information on how to make them run and display properly on a Win7 system.
OK. I found the video and it's very informative. When time allows I'll give it a go. However I was not able to understand which Midi emulator you were using. Could you please provide a link or site address?
In your opinion, what is the best choice: A genuine legacy system, or Win7/GOG? BTW, I have several FULL Thrustmaster systems including rudder pedals and adjustable ACM cards that I'd like to be able to use.
RE: Legacy system. I seem to recall running all of my favorite DOS games on a Win98se machine using Socket A Mobo's such as an Asus A78X-E Deluxe, and before that an ABit KT7A-Raid. I've got quite a collection of old Mobo's, but I don't think I can resurrect enough CPU's, RAM strips and peripherals to make a 486 system.
Hi there!
And I gave up on making GOG DOS Tweak Guides :)
After a few, the same old tweaks are needed. So once you watched a few of my guides, you know what to do.
IMO once you configured DOSBox properly, gaming is really nice.
To build a real DOS PC, it's a LOT of work, time and money that you need to invest. I cannot recommend it to be honest, unless you really, really want to play on a real DOS PC.
