Start the game,but training and versus dont work...and arcade sometimes is black screen...

same problem here. when i try to run the game in win XP SP 3 the game most of the time start with a black screen. The game doesn't react afterwards.

When I try to start it again, it works. I can pass the first arcade stage and the game brings up the next black screen when loading the second stage.

anyone an idea? :(

Any attempt to use the game outside of the GOG Launcher will result in this problem.

Well... I own an original copy of this game and when you use it on modern computers you get a messed up color pallet and unpredictable behavior, like the response I made to another post.

If the game appears slow though, try the quality level 2. It will go at 30 FPS and balance quality and other things.

Except this same thing happens when NOT using the game outside the gog launcher. The first few times I tried to run the game I got the exact same situation described above (by the second poster I think). First time the screen went all black and I had to cntrl+alt+delete to end the "not responding" program. Next time I was able to fight one round then the screen went black and I was unable to get out of the program to end it and so had to manually reboot my comp (which screwed up my PC to the point that I had to manually try to boot up the comp three times just to get past the windows loading screen.

I don't dare try playing the game again.
