So I have played the game for over an hour and haven't unlocked a single achievement when I should've (looked at the list). I downgraded the game to an earlier version and they still don't unlock. According to Galaxy some people have unlocked achievements so I wonder what is wrong. Maybe they worked initially but later patches broke them? Can anyone who owns the game confirm this? Either way, I reported the issue to GOG and hopefully they can figure it out.
