When I process a turn, my screen freezes and I can hear sounds. After a while the turn is processed and I see results. I never see the units move. Is this normal? if not any idea how to resolve?

No, you should see the unit's tile overlap into the attacking field and little explosion on the defender and than on the attacker for losses.
Perhaps it is some missing graphics driver or directx install.
