After watching the video of gameplay here on GOG I can't believe for such a beautiful, detailed pixel art world the character animations look like stiff paper doll cutouts. Walking (looks more like hopping), battles, etc. have no limb movements? Think I'll skip this one for now.

It's part of the old skool charm... this game obviously isn't for you if that's a deal breaker. Maybe you're just too young to remember games from the 80's and 90's.

I wish you were right and I was younger, but I grew up in the 70s and 80s at the dawn of video games so I am most likely older than you. Remember when Mattel Intellivision advertising made it a point that their games had real moving arms and legs in the early 80s? Yeah man, sorry, not animating the character's limbs for walking, battle, etc. in this game has nothing to do with charm IMO. The art is really well done in this game and it just detracts from it having such simplistic character animation. You are probably right, though, it's just not for me.
