Iam useing windows 7 and the game is very "choppy" or laggy any ideas?
This question / problem has been solved by Namurimage
Hi,
You can try changing the graphic mode with the graphic mde setup tool
(Start Menu > All Programs > GOG.com > Stonekkep)
Since you're on Win7 run the tool as admin
(Right Click > Run as Admin)
that seemed to work
thank you
You're welcome ;)
I was having problems with the colors rendering correctly in the game... especially hotspots like where the lamps are along the walls, or the dark areas that represent the receding horizon of the hallways in the sewers...

soooo... i applied this solution and it erased all my saved game data! is there a way to retrieve it?
If you applied 'Run as Admin' to any of the game related shortcuts it's possible the game now looks for the save games in the game folder. If that's the case just find the save game files on the VirtualStore folder and copy them to the game folder.

This is for Vista/ Win7 only, if you're on XP this doesn't apply.
Hi Namur,

Yes, I am on Win7. I love this game, my bro and i played it as kids when it first came out... but i'm a bit of a newb technically... i can't find the virtual store folder.

thanks for your help.
Try to look in

C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Stonekeep

The AppData folder may be hidden by default. If so, go to folder options and under the 'View' tab check the option for "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".
you, sir are awesome! simply awesome! thank you!

I'm glad i could help. Have fun ;)
I still have the laggy graphic problems, even when I run the Graphic mode setup as an administrator. Is there a specific graphic mode I have to set it on? I tried all of them but they all still appear as rainbow pixilated and laggy.

Unless I run it in a window, which I dont mind as much. But it appears at a very low resolution. Is there any way I can run it at a much higher resolution if it is in a window?

EDIT: Never mind I sorta fixed it. I went into Dosbox's settings and switched the rendering option there to OpenGL
