When first coming across Wahooka in the game, he asked me to come closer, but i turned around first before turning back to where he was, only to find him gone - no trace. He hasn't turned up since, and I'm halfway through the level (have the gems, have freed the dwarf etc etc.)
Is Wahooka gone because I didnt go straight to him? Is it a bug?? Do I have to restart, or can I continue without ever meeting Wahooka?
Any help much appreciated!
Fantastic game by the way - had the disc years ago, but not been able to make it work on modern systems for ages. Go GOG, fantastic work....

I would say restart and go directly to him. I was playing without sound the other day and the first thing I did was run up and hit him and had to restart to get the talking sequence.

There is a bug where Wahhooka sometimes wont reappear. You might want to look up an online game guide/walk through if you need to know what he has to say.
Don't be too sad. There will be more Wahooka as the game progresses.

No worries - thanks for all the help!
He reappeared after I went back to the general area he was first in and slogged around a bit, hitting the 'Y' key (read on an old forum somewhere this can help)...
Off into the sewers next......god ilove this game!

You know he appears in 2 places, asking for 'offerings'.

i'm not quite sure what to do here. i saw wahooka and thought he was an enemy (its been at least 12 years since i played this before... and never got very far at that time as i was like 8 years old...) and so i attacked him and he got all pissy with me and went away saying i'd been rude. but we had a little dialog and now he's asking me if i have something for him, which i do, but i can't get him to appear, i tried hitting y, whatever thats supposed to do... any idea's? i don't have any saves from before then, and i don't want to restart (killed all 50 ish ants in your old room to buff some skills. and that took a long time) should i just keep going? is he integral to the story?

I think you should keep going as he appears again wanting certain items. Thus far I have not found him very profitable in what he has to say, but it is fun to circle around him while he talks! :o)

Later, in the sewers, he'll have two different requests. One is a final bit of advice (a doozy :P), and the other is actually a material reward (optional to game progression).

its an old bug though it should have been fixed in later patches don't know they used a patch version to work.
And if u got the original game u can get it to work easely on dosbox.
Get the latest version of it and mount your cd rom driver with label STONKEEP and it works as good as this version
