I've been hacking at this stupid thing for seemingly ages. All tentacles dead long ago. Have unleashed a million fireballs from my wand on it too. It just won't die, plus it kills both my characters in nearly no time at all. Using bladed weapons only since, as near as I can tell, blunt weapons don't hurt it. Someone please help!

In order to kill the sewer boss, you have to drain the sewers. Well, it MIGHT be possible to kill it without draining the sewers but you're going to have to drain the sewers anyway so you should go ahead and do it before fighting the boss. To drain the sewers, you need to find two control cylinders and take them upstairs to the control room. You'll find the cylinders while wandering around the sewers... at certain points Drake will say "ow! my foot!" and then you should grope around on the floor and you'll find a cylinder. The sewers are divided into two sections, which are accessed from two separate stairways from the floor above. There is one clyinder in each section.

Once you've drained the sewers, when you encounter the boss you will be able to see the lower part of it, which was hidden under the water before. There is a nice, juicy, fleshy eyeball-thing on the lower part of the creature. That's its weak spot, so hit it there repeatedly to kill it. If you're taking too much damage, try moving around a lot during the fight, by turning and retreating backwards and hitting the creature as it chases you.

Many thanks for the reply! Should have mentioned that I did drain the water before attempting to kill this thing, so that wasn't the problem. About the eye-ball thing: I don't really follow you. When the creature is in melee range only a little bit of the top is visible, so I don't see how it's possible to target anything below that. I'm seeing blood-splats when I hit so assume I'm doing damage, but maybe that's mistaken. Also, does the beast heal up if I leave the level and come back? I've gone back up to level 2 to refill my magic stick like four times and unloaded a full battery of fire on this thing, and it still lives. Maybe it's healing up between trips?

EDIT - NVM. Equipped a throwing axe with my cursor and aimed at the eyeball-thing when the beast was a few squares away so I could actually see it. Killed it in like three hits. Frankly a disappointing encounter - I don't see how the player was supposed to know that killing the thing toe-to-toe wasn't an option (since you can't see the vulnerable spot when the thing is right next to you). Thanks for your help - I'd never have even noticed that spot without you pointing it out.

You can kill it with melee attacks if you back up while fighting, so you can see the weak spot. That's what I did. I'd forgotten that when it's up close you can't see the spot.

In fact, backing up (and otherwise moving around) is a good idea in combat generally. makes it much harder for enemies to hit you.
